Attendees should identify as a woman, and can bring a guest of any gender. You should be comfortable using a computer, but no programming experience or hardware expertise is required. You should have your own laptop to bring along. Mac, Windows, and Linux machines are welcome.
And if you sign up but don't get the confirmation email, check your spam folder.
In the past, we've "sold out" most of our events only to have people not show up or cancel at the very last minute. That makes it really hard on the folks on the waitlist who don't get bumped up until the last minute and can't make it. This means we can't get everyone in who wants to and can attend.
We work really hard to put these events on and we'd love it if the people who sign up show up, or at least cancel with a 48 hour notice so that folks on the wait list have enough time to make arrangements to attend.
You'll need the following things to be able to successfully participate in RailsBridge:
- A reasonably up to date laptop running Windows, OS X or Linux
- The power cord for that laptop
- A text editor like Brackets (get the version WITH Preview/Extract) or Sublime Text.
- A little patience
- A little curiosity
A huge thank you to our sponsor, Google
, for giving us both their money and time to make this event free for everybody!
Transportation and Parking
Free parking is available right next to the address, and there should be plenty for everyone.
Food and Drinks
We'll have breakfast, lunch, and snacks, so come with both an appetite for learning and one for food!
The after party will be at Sports Page Bar & Grill
. There's a huge patio outside and even a volleyball net!
