**IMPORTANT**Please read to the bottom of this message**

This workshop is intended to reach out to women (and men) who are interested in learning Ruby on Rails. Men are welcome to attend if you bring a woman who wants to learn Ruby on Rails too.

In this workshop, we'll take you through building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. By the end of the workshop, you'll have an application on the internet that connects to a database and reads and writes information.

We'll meet up on Friday to install all of the software you need, and then spend Saturday learning and writing code. Total programming novices, system administrators, developers in other languages, and folks who attended our previous workshops are all welcome. We'll have different classes separated by experience level.

Each participant needs to bring her/his own laptop and power supply.

We'll have pizza Friday night during the Installfest, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Vegetarian options will be available. If you have special dietary requirements, please let us know on the Registration Form linked below.

**Anyone interested in volunteering as a teacher, TA, or with logistics, you do not need to RSVP to this meetup. RSVP on the Volunteer meetup instead: http://www.sfruby.info/events/60258512/**

Because Railsbridge workshops are super awesome, open spots are in high demand and get filled up very quickly. While we realize that life happens, we want to minimize no-shows just as much as we want to ensure that we have enough volunteer instructors and TAs to go around. Therefore, it's necessary to do ALL of the following to complete registration:

1) Confirm that the email address you have listed in Meetup is actually one that you check on a regular basis. (We'll be sending updates, notifications, and to-dos prior to the event, and you'll lose your spot if you fail to respond in a timely manner.)

2) If you have a Mac, you must install Xcode on your laptop before coming to Installfest on Friday, April 27. (Xcode is the software that creates a coding environment for you to tinker with during the workshop.) Xcode is a very large file that takes 2-3 hours to download, and only one the first step in a more involved setup process. So we're requiring that Mac users notify us, before 5pm on Tuesday 4/24, that you've completed the XCode download. Get in touch using the "send email" link in Carina's profile http://www.sfruby.info/members/3555824/

3) Fill out the Registration Form (http://bit.ly/IJyRIR), which will provide us with details about your operating system, the type and level of programming experience you have, and whether you will need childcare. (This info helps us create a workshop that meets your needs.) You must fill out the Registration Form before 5pm on Tuesday 4/24.

If you have questions or ideas for us, please get in touch. We want to hear how to make the workshop a great experience for all.

Yay! High-five for making it to the bottom of this message.
