Saturday, April 23rd, 9:30am-4pm: Rails Workshop

4:30pm: Workshop Afterparty: Re:public

This workshop is intended to reach out to women who are new to Ruby and Rails. Men are welcome to come - please find the woman in your life that wants to learn Ruby and Rails who will register and bring you as a guest.

The workshop is FREE of charge!

We are still looking for teachers, TAs, and logistics help: http://www.meetup.com/SeattleRailsBridge/events/16691773/ (If you are going to teach/TA - do not register for this workshop, please only register for the volunteer meetup)

The workshop will be held at the Founders Co-op meeting space:

511 Boren North
Seattle, WA 98109

In this workshop, we'll take you through building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. By the end of the workshop, you'll have an application on the internet that connects to a database and reads and writes information.

We'll meet up Install Fest day to install all of the software you need, and then spend workshop day learning and writing code. Be sure to attend the installfest especially if you are on Windows, because Rails 3 can be a bit tricky on Windows.

Total programming novices, system administrators, and developers in other languages are welcome to attend. We'll have different classes separated by experience level. Each participant needs to bring his or her own computer.

When you RSVP you'll be asked a few question about your operating system, level and type of programming experience, and whether you will be bringing any children. We will plan for a playgroup on site if you're bringing a child.

Pizza dinner will be provided Friday evening and lunch will be provided on Saturday.

If you have questions, please send a message to the organizers.
