Workshop Description

We're back for another exciting RailsBridge Event!

This event will take you through the process of building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. By the end of the day, you'll have an application that connects to a database, reads and writes data, and renders HTML in a browser.

Below is an example app made by a participant last year!

Who is this workshop for?

This free workshop is intended to reach out to women and people of color who are interested in learning modern Web Development. It is assumed that the attendees have little to no previous programming experience. Note: you must be older than 16 to attend.

What will happen at the event?

We'll meet up Friday to install all of the software you need, and then spend Saturday learning and writing code. If you've never attended a RailsBridge event or used Rails before, please come to the Friday night Installfest so you're ready to start coding on Saturday morning!

What is RailsBridge?

Here's a quick video for more info about the organization and workshop setup:

Will there be food at the event?

  • Dinner will be served at the Installfest.
  • Breakfast and Lunch will be served at the Workshop
  • Coffee and water will be available during the day
