Workshop Description

Johnny Boursiquot from the GoBridge team will be teaching "Practical Go": a classroom-style introductory course on the Go programming language! We'll kick off around 10:30am, have a 1-hour break for lunch, and wrap up around 5pm. TAs will be on hand all day to assist.

This course is open to folks of all programming experience levels.

To apply for a spot, please fill out our application form. We will not be managing RSVPs through this platform, this page is just for added visibility and information purposes!

Volunteering & TAs

We are not using BridgeTroll to manage RSVPs for TAs or students for this! If you're interested in volunteering, please email [email protected]. We unfortunately cannot have an open call because there is a strict limit on how many people we are permitted to have in the venue. We will get in touch after September 1 when we have a student headcount to recruit volunteers and teaching assistants!

Sponsors

Thank you to Shopify for hosting the workshop, Pivotal for hosting the installation party, and Wattpad for supporting this event!

We are still looking for additional sponsors, please get in touch with [email protected] if you are interested.

Transportation and Parking

We'd strongly advise traveling to both the installation party and workshop via public transit.

Parking downtown is possible, but street parking is very limited and GoBridge cannot reimburse any costs of using private parking garages.

If you are coming from further afield (outside of the GTA) and need help with travel expenses, please contact us via email: [email protected]

There is no indoor bike parking available.

Accessibility

Both venues are fully wheelchair-accessible from street level. Gender-neutral washrooms will be available! If you have concerns regarding accessibility please don't hesitate to contact us on [email protected].

Food and Drinks

Lunch and snacks will be provided for the workshop. Dinner will be provided for the installation party.

Afterparty

There will be an optional and informal gathering at a nearby bar after the Saturday workshop! We'll announce this on Saturday.
