Workshop Description

Good news everyone! Blurb.com will be hosting a Railsbridge workshop!

This workshop is for women and people who are significantly female-identified who want to learn how to work with Ruby on Rails. (Trans* and genderqueer people emphatically welcome!) If you identify as a man and would like to attend, you need to be the guest of a woman attending.

In this workshop, we'll take you through building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. Depending on your class level, you will have developed an application on the internet that connects to a database and reads and writes information. We'll meet up on Friday to install all of the software you need, and then spend Saturday learning and writing code.

Total programming novices, system administrators, developers in other languages, and folks who attended our previous workshops are all welcome. We'll have different classes separated by experience level. Each participant needs to bring her own laptop and power supply.

Transportation and Parking

There are parking lots nearby, though as it's in downtown SF, driving may not be the wisest decision. As for public transportation, you can take BART to the Montgomery station. Then, walk north to California St (about 4 blocks) and west to Kearny (1 block). Railsbridge will be on your right at that intersection.

Afterparty

We'll be heading to The Irish Bank, at 10 Mark Ln
