This is a Ruby on Rails event. The focus will be on developing web apps and programming in Ruby. You can find all the curriculum materials at docs.railsbridge.org.

Interested in learning how to program? Want to build your own web application? Never written a line of code before and are a little intimidated by nerds? There's no need to be! RailsBridge is a friendly place to get together and learn how to write some code.
We're doing something a little different this time and combining the Ruby on Rails introduction and Front End courses into a single event to hopefully make things easier to organize (it works according to the RailsBridge folks).
If you're going to be doing the Ruby on Rails course, we'll start with the InstallFest on Friday night and make sure you have everything you need on your computer. If you can make it through the InstallFest process on your own, you don't need to come Friday night.
Saturday, we'll start with an introduction to programming so you can get the basic concepts, and then we'll dive into building a web application!
And if you sign up but don't get the confirmation email, check your spam folder!
We think having kids between the ages of 8 - 18 attend RailsBridge is awesome!! But, because we're barely responsible adults ourselves, we don't want to be responsible for them. But, we'd love it if parents and kids attended together! So, if your kid wants to attend, you should both sign up and come together! We'd love to have you!
We've "sold out" both events so far only to have people not show up or cancel at the very last minute. That makes it really hard on the folks on the waitlist who don't get bumped up until the last minute and can't make it and means we can't get everyone in who wants to attend. We work really hard to put these events on and we'd love it if the people who sign up show up, or at least cancel with enough notice that folks on the wait list have enough notice to make it.
You'll need the following things to be able to successfully participate in RailsBridge:
A huge thank you to our sponsors who are giving of both their money and time to make this event free for everybody!
Free parking is available at the Armstrong Center (13040 Abercorn Street).
We'll have snacks for the InstallFest and breakfast, lunch and snacks on Saturday, so come with both an appetite for learning and one for food!
We will definitely have an after party, even if we all just decide to go somewhere afterwards. We're still working out the details for this, so stay tuned!
