This is a Ruby on Rails event. The focus will be on developing web apps and programming in Ruby. You can find all the curriculum materials at docs.railsbridge.org.
This workshop is intended to reach out to women who are interested in learning Ruby on Rails. Men are welcome to come if you find a woman who wants to learn Ruby on Rails and come together. RailsBridge is emphatically queer and trans* friendly.
In this workshop, we'll take you through building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. By the end of the day, you'll have an application that connects to a database and reads and writes information. Please come to the Installfest if your laptop is not set up for Ruby on Rails development. We'll meet up on Friday to install all of the software you need, and then spend Saturday learning and writing code. Programmers of all skill levels are welcome.
Been to our workshop before? We're switching up this workshop and experimenting with a new type of Installfest that will use Vagrant instead of our regular environment set up. This time around we're only opening registration for 25 students!
It's extremely important that if you sign up to attend this workshop that you can attend both the Installfest and the entire workshop the next day. We want to be able to switch over our Install process but want to make sure it works before opening it up to more students.
