Workshop Description

Interested in learning how to program? Want to build your own web application? Never written a line of code before and are a little intimidated? There's no need to be! RailsBridge is a friendly place to get together and learn how to write some code.

What do I we mean by "Women and their friends"? Guys are welcome as a +1 (and can should sign up on their own).

We'll start with the InstallFest on Friday night and make sure you have everything you need on your computer. If you can make it through the InstallFest process on your own, you don't need to come Friday night.

Saturday, we'll start with an introduction to programming so you can get the basic concepts, and then we'll dive into building a web application! You can find all the curriculum materials at docs.railsbridge.org.

And if you sign up but don't get the confirmation email, check your spam folder.

Childcare

Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer childcare at this event, but we would like to for future events.

Sponsors

Our sponsors are:
The Speakeasy
Oracle,
Expected Behavior , and
Indy Civic Hack Day.
Please take a moment to thank them for their support of women in computing.

Food and Drinks

We'll have snacks for the InstallFest and breakfast, lunch and snacks on Saturday, so come with both an appetite for learning and one for food!

Afterparty

We will definitely have an after party, even if we all just decide to go somewhere afterwards. We're still working out the details for this.
